David Njengambazo Jere, popularly known as Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV, was born on 20 March 1956 and died on 30 May 2026.
He was the traditional leader of the Ngoni people of Eastern Zambia and parts of Malawi, serving as Mpezeni IV from 1980 to 2026.
For more than four decades, he was an important and respected traditional leader who played a major role in preserving Ngoni culture and traditions. He is remembered for his long service and leadership of the Ngoni people.
