Hồ Chí Minh, widely known as Uncle Ho, was a Vietnamese revolutionary and statesman who played a central role in Vietnam’s struggle for independence. He founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and became its first president, serving until his death in 1969.

He also served as the country’s first prime minister from 1945 to 1955 and remained one of the most important figures in modern Vietnamese history.
