Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl al-Bukhārī, widely known as Imam al-Bukhari, was a 9th-century Muslim scholar and one of the most respected hadith scholars in Sunni Islam. He is best known for compiling Sahih al-Bukhari, one of the most important collections of hadith.
His other notable works include Al-Tarikh al-Kabir and Al-Adab al-Mufrad. His scholarship has had a lasting influence on the study and preservation of Islamic traditions.
